From hive to jar

Our process

Honey takes a long path before it reaches your table. Below is a general overview of how that process typically works, along with where our own care comes in.

How honey is generally made

This is general, educational information about honey production as a craft, not a step-by-step account of our own operation.

1

Foraging & Pollination

Bees visit flowers to collect nectar and pollen, which they bring back to the hive.

2

Life in the Hive

Inside the hive, bees convert nectar into honey and store it in wax comb cells.

3

Harvesting the Comb

Beekeepers remove honey-filled frames once the comb is capped and ready.

4

Extraction & Filtering

Honey is extracted from the comb and filtered to remove wax and debris.

5

Settling & Bottling

The honey rests before it's poured into jars for sale.

6

Packaging & Delivery

Jars are sealed, labeled, and prepared to be sent out to customers.

Our approach

Where our care comes in

Once honey reaches us, we focus on handling it carefully and packaging it well — sealing, labeling, and preparing each jar so it arrives in the condition it left us. It's a small part of a long process, but it's the part we can promise.
